Chesterfield County's Chester, Meadowdale and La Prade library branches will have extended hours today until 9 p.m. and will be open Sunday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. to provide a cool and relaxing environment to escape the prevailing heat wave in the region.
Widespread power outages still exist in the area, making it difficult for some area residents to stay cool. These library branches, as well as other public facilities such as shopping centers or malls, are good options for places to escape the heat.
The county has recorded information related to the current heat conditions at 751-2EOC and will update the recording as required.
