(RNN) – Things weren't all bad during Tropical Storm Debby, at least not for one adventurous kite surfer.
An admirer caught the unknown daredevil attempting to jump a pier at Redington Beach, FL while storm winds blew choppy waves across the water.
He not only made the jump – he cleared it with plenty room to spare.
At one point during the video, the kite surfer looked as if he might fly off.
Kiteboarding has becoming an increasingly popular sport in the U.S. in recent years, so much that it will replace the more traditional windsurfing in the 2016 Olympics.
It's unlikely that factored into this athlete's decision to defy nature, however.
An observer caught on camera screamed that the man must be a professional.
Either that, or he has a mental status that ranges from genius to crazy and maybe several things in between.
