RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Quarterback Antwon Young has been consistent for the Richmond Raiders all season at quarterback and is a big reason they finished the regular season 10-2 and undefeated at home. Monday saw the Raiders two wins shy of a PIFL championship, and once again the team was true to form in front of its home crowd.
Young tallied eight total touchdowns to lead Richmond to the 56-50 win over Louisiana in the PIFL semifinal. Richmond opened up a 20-6 lead and held a 34-16 advantage at the half. Louisiana would crawl back into the game, but Young's rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter proved to be the eventual game-winner.
Michael Woodhouse was big on special teams for the Raiders, as he blocked two field goals, the six point difference in the game.
Richmond will travel to Albany to face the Panthers for the PIFL championship game on Saturday. The two teams split their regular season match-ups, with each team winning on its home field.
