Two brief, overnight police chases end in wrecks, but the suspect in one still remains at large.
The first police pursuit began at approximately 2:00 a.m. Saturday when officers spotted a motorcyclist driving erratically in the 5900 block of Carnation Street. Due to potential hazards from rain, officers called the pursuit off.
Later, police discovered that same motorcycle, wrecked on Forest Hill Avenue. However, the driver hasn't been found.
We're told Chesterfield Police assisted Richmond Police by providing a K9 unit to help search for the suspect, who is believed to be male.
Meanwhile, a second, separate pursuit occurred at about 2:40 a.m. near 18th and Broad streets. Officers attempted to pull over a vehicle for driving without headlights, but the driver wouldn't stop.
A few blocks over near 18th and Venable, the car police were pursuing, crashed into a streetlight, which then fell over onto a police cruiser.
No officers were hurt. The suspect was treated for minor injures and we're told charges are pending.
