Amazon, which is opening distribution centers in Chesterfield and Dinwiddie this fall, is accepting applications for hundreds of full time positions, right now.
The online retailer is encouraging job seekers to apply. More than a thousand positions need to be filled.
Right now, Amazon is gearing up to hire its first wave of folks.
"All of these jobs are full time jobs with benefits which include company stock and health insurance," said Ty Rogers, spokesperson for Amazon.
The online retailer says it's looking to hire warehouse and lead warehouse associates.
"Those people are responsible for accepting packages, picking, and packaging orders and shipping orders out," Rogers added.
You can only apply for a job online at www.WorkAtAmazonFulfillment.com-- you must have an email address.
Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or an equivalent. If you're hired you'll make between $11 and $13 an hour.
According to the company's web site candidates must be willing to work flexible schedules including weekends and nights, be able to lift up to 49 pounds , climb stairs, and stand or walk for shifts 10-to-12 hours long.
"We will be holding higher events later this summer. So candidates who apply will hear back as the process proceeds," said Rogers.
Both of the distribution centers are under construction.
They're expected to open later this year.
