The University of Virginia was set to introduce its interim president Wednesday, but the Faculty Senate said it isn't giving up on efforts to get Teresa Sullivan reinstated as school president. Sullivan is set to formally leave Virginia's flagship university in mid-August after her abrupt ouster by the board of visitors.
A Virginia inventor claims his design was the basis for the cap used to choke off the flow of oil to the Gulf of Mexico nearly three months after BP's undersea well blew in 2010. And he says it was stolen so he's filed a federal lawsuit against several companies involved in resolving the disaster. BP is not included.
