Glen Allen, VA (WWBT)- Mia Hamm, Kristine Lilly and Tisha Hoch have five Olympic gold medals, five World Cup titles and 12 NCAA championships between the three of them. This week the trio of soccer stars is passing down skills to younger soccer players.
The three former Olympians have set up the Team-First Soccer Academy and made their way to the Richmond area this week for a three day camp for girls ages 8-19. About 200 total young soccer players took part in the event at Striker Park in Glen Allen.
Hamm says that they want to the campers to be the best they can be and all three enjoy inspiring these younger players. The former Olympians hope to pass their skills down so players work well together with other players on the field. They also say that women's soccer has grown significantly in the United States, and that they're looking forward to seeing the 2012 London Olympic Games.
