
Clancy Dan Starling escaped from the Chesapeake Correctional Center on June 11.The inmate who escaped from the Chesapeake Correctional Center and was spotted in Powhatan has been apprehended.
40-year-old Clancy Dan Starling was spotted on Trenholm Road near Cumberland County.
The U.S. Marshals' Capital Area Regional Task Force tracked Starling until they located him at the Greyhound Bus Station in Richmond.
Starling was apprehended without incident around 5:30 p.m. and will be returned to Chesapeake.
The Virginia Department of Corrections, Petersburg Police Department, and Chesapeake Sheriff's Office also helped with the arrest.
Starling was sentenced on a probation violation that includes 2 counts of burglary and 2 counts of larceny with 15 years left to serve. He is also sentenced 2 years Grand Larceny on Virginia Beach charges.
He escaped the Chesapeake Correctional Center on June 11.
