A local company will expand its facility near the Henrico-Goochland line.
Luck Stone applied for a special permit to expand operations near its existing facility. The stone company already owned the land, but now they have filed a special use permit with Goochland County for its development.
Ben Thompson, a Land Use Development Leader with Luck Stone, said they want to use it for holding the dirt they dig through to get to the stone.
He said Luck Company will landscape the dirt into a berm that should help prevent noise in the nearby Henrico West Ridge neighborhood.
He said there will be some smaller equipment on the site and that this additional area will not be used for extraction of stone.
