Stress is the most common trigger for tension headaches. Plan time in your daily routine for stress relief activities such as listening to music, stretching, or taking a walk.

Take ibuprofen at the onset of the headache and every 4 to 6 hours until headache resolves.

See your doctor if you are having bad headaches more than three times a week.
