HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - Family and friends will pay their final respects to a Hanover mother who police say was shot and killed by her estranged husband.
Sabrina Markham's two young sons will be in attendance among others saying their final goodbyes Friday. According to Markham's obituary, the viewing for the 30-year-old mother of two is open to the public, but the funeral will be private.
The viewing will be held Friday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennet Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Instead of flowers the family is asking people to donate to Sabrina's sons. An account is set up at the Village Bank in Mechanicsville, but you can also donate through any Village Bank location. It's under "Sabrina's Boys."
Markham's shooting rocked Mechanicsville. Friends say she lived in fear of her estranged husband, who remains in the hospital. Last Saturday, investigators say Ryan Markham, stormed into her home and started shooting.
Sabrina was killed, and another man was injured. Police say he had a gun and shot Ryan. Both men were taken to the hospital. Sabrina had taken steps trying to protect herself. According to court documents, she had filed four protection orders dating back to March.
Once Ryan Markham is released from the hospital, the sheriff's office says he will face several charges including murder.
