Poll: Cuccinelli holds dominant lead in GOP primary

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A new poll shows some good signs for Attorney General Ken Cuccinell's political ambitions.

According to a Quinnipiac University poll out Wednesday, Cuccinelli holds a dominant 51 to 15 percent lead over Lt. Governor Bill Bolling in the 2013 GOP primary for governor.

When it comes to Virginia's U.S. Senate race, Democrat Tim Kaine and Republican George Allen are virtually tied, with Kaine holding a 44 to 43 percent edge over Allen.

The poll also finds Governor McDonnell at a 53 to 30 percent job approval to disapproval rating.That's an all-time low for governor.

Senator Mark Warner is the most popular Virginia politician, according to the research.

Warner holds a 60 to 21 percent approval to disapproval rating.
