Teen ejected and killed in Dinwiddie crash

DINWIDDIE, VA (WWBT) -

State police are looking into a deadly car crash in Dinwiddie.

A 16-year-old girl was killed, two other people are hurt. We don't know the female's name just yet. Right now state police is letting her family know what happened.

The crash happened just after 9:00 Wednesday night on Carson Road, about half of a mile west of Old Stage Road in Dinwiddie County.

Police say the 19-year-old male driver of the car ran off the left side of the road and hit a ditch.

We're told it's that impact that caused the car to flip several times before landing in a corn field.

Police say the girl killed was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car. A second passenger is in the hospital for minor injuries.

EMS technicians checked out the driver. That person didn't go to the hospital.

We expect to find out new details on this accident. We'll bring you that information as soon as we get it.
