Shortly after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, State Police responded to a single vehicle crash near exit 78 on I-95 North.
Witnesses said a Toyota Yaris with Virginia plates was in the right lane when it careened into the wood just before where the guard rail starts. They say no brakes were applied during the crash. Police said the vehicle had traveled approximately 500 feet along the embankment before coming to rest in the woods.
50-year-old Terrell S. Blanks and 34-year old Tyasha Blanks were wearing safety belts at the time of the crash. They suffered minor injuries and were taken to MCV.
Rescue crews had to extricate Terrell Blanks from the vehicle. The right lane was closed for approximately 90 minutes.
He has been charged with reckless driving.
