CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Dr. Christy McLean is helping her older patients with Osteoarthritis.
Osteoarthritis includes joint pain, typically involving hands, knees and spine. It may include hips, shoulders and feet as well. It typically occurs in people over age 40.
It is thought to be caused by several factors, including but not limited to, joint inflammation, genetics, prior trauma, etc.
Treatment depends on the joint involved but can include pain medications, exercise programs/weight loss, steroid injections.
