A man is found dead in the street on Richmond's north side.
Brookland Park Avenue is closed between Barton and North because the body is still in the street.
Officials had to re-route the buses for the nearby Community High School.
The incident happened around 2:20 Tuesday afternoon. Police are still piecing together what happened.
We're told a man was shot and killed right out here in broad daylight.
Part of the intersection was closed for some time to traffic.
Police believe this was an isolated incident and they have not officially identified the victim — but family members fear it is 27-year-old Antoine Saunders.
They all have a lot of questions about who would shoot him in broad daylight.
"I just wish they'd catch him because this was broad daylight. He got two kids with no father now. I mean it's just senseless," said Tracy Price, grandmother of Antoine's daughter.
We did check in with the market place nearby — they say they have surveillance video of the street, of what happened, and they say they gave it to police.
Police still want anyone that witnessed the shooting to call police.
"Anybody that has any information. This is a very busy area and we believe there were a lot of eye-witnesses to this shooting. If they would come forward or talk to us anonymously. That number 780-1000," said Gene Lepley for the Richmond PD.
Police are looking for a man wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans, last seen headed north on Barton Avenue
If you saw anything, again that number is 780-1000.
