Teen shot in Sandston Saturday

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

Henrico Police are investigating after an 18-year-old man was shot near Sandston, Saturday afternoon.

Police responded to Sanderling Avenue around 3:30 p.m. and found the teen had been shot in the leg.

According to police, a group of people in two separate cars, approached and began to fight with the victim. At some point, someone fired a gun and struck the victim. At that point, the suspects fled.

Police tell NBC12 the victim is expected to be okay and that he likely knew the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. You will remain anonymous.
