My mother's favorite song is the O'Jays classic "I'll Always Love My Momma." Yes it's time to honor all of the mothers on the day of all days, Mother's Day. If there were a day to remember and to make sure it's done just right, it's Mother's Day.
Everyone has their own special way of honoring their mother, wife or anyone who has been a mother to you. Many of you may buy gifts, take mom out for a great meal, make a long overdue visit or take time to honor her memory. But moms are so easy. All they really want to hear is thank you, I appreciate you and I really love you.
A mother is so special and she deserves a day that is totally reserved for her. I don't know about you, but my mother is a queen to me. And like you, a simple thought about all the special things mom has done for you, brings a smile or a tear. But what I love most about Mother's Day is that if you have a broken relationship with your mom, it gives all of us an opportunity to re-connect, say I'm sorry or I forgive you. She may not be perfect, but without a doubt she loves you. Moms are just built that way.
If you are within the sound of my voice or you see me on the screen and no one is around to say Happy Mother's Day, Happy Mother's Day to you! And to my mother, my wife and all of the special mothers out there Happy Mother's Day.
Like the O' Jays say, I'll always love my momma, she's my favorite girl!
