Spotsylvania man wins $1 million in Mega Millions drawing

SPOTSYLVANIA, VA (WWBT) - A retired Spotsylvania man wins $30 in a lotto game and used the winnings to buy a ticket for the April 24 Mega Millions drawing.

David Feaganes matched the first five numbers, which would normally win $250,000. But he spent an extra $1 on the Megaplier and increased his winnings to $1 million.

He bought the winning ticket at the Fas Mart at 11035 Leavells Road, just outside Fredericksburg in Spotsylvania County. The winning numbers were 3-9-15-37-38 and the Mega Ball number was 39. He used Easy Pick and allowed the computer to randomly select the numbers on his ticket.

Feaganes retired last year and told the Virginia Lottery he plans to invest his winnings.
