RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The man accused of shooting and killing a Manchester High School teenager is in jail facing murder charges. However, this is not the first time police have arrested the accused shooter, 19-year-old Brandon Fordham, according to published reports.
The family of the victim says the two knew each other. Police say Fordham is a convicted felon. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports police arrested Fordham in December on drug and gun charges. He was free on bond when the shooting happened.
The Times-Dispatch also says Fordham was previously charged with assaulting another 17-year-old boy, but that charge was dropped.
Dozens of people gathered at a vigil at Manchester to remember Tre Walton. He was a sophomore at Manchester. Tre's cousin spoke out about how she hopes people will remember her cousin.
