
CHESTERFILED, VA (WWBT) - A vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday night at Manchester High School for a student killed over the weekend.
17-year-old Tre Antonio Walton was shot and killed just after 10:00 p.m. Sunday at the Genito Glen apartments in the 4000 block of Hailey Crescent Drive. Police say the Manchester High School sophomore was found in a breezeway of one of the apartment buildings. He died after going to Chippenham Hospital.
Dozens have joined a facebook tribute page for Walton — affectionately called "Sleepy" by some of his friends.
Tyrell Jones wrote, "RIP lil bro, sleep we miss you love you and you are in a better place now."
A sentiment echoed by many.
Another friend said, "I don't even know what to say right now. :( rest easy Sleepy....we love yu. <3."
Teryn Delaine Carver said, "Loudest, closest gun shots I've ever witnessed. RIP darlin your with Jesus now <3."
Chesterfield Police have already made an arrest — charging Brandon Fordham for murder.
