RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A combination of strong winds, a lack of rain and a cigarette butt tossed in the grass can quickly turn into a dangerous situation.
Monday is a red flag warning day, meaning winds are expected to be up to 30 miles per hour. At that speed the winds can fuel a fire and cause flames to spread very fast.
Virginia is currently under a statewide outdoor burning ban for the month of April. Under the ban, you're not allowed to burn anything before 4:00 p.m.
The warning will last through Monday evening.
