Richmond man arrested for bringing gun to NYC subway

NEW YORK CITY, NY (WWBT) - New York City Police have arrested a Richmond man for bringing a loaded weapon to the subway station at 8th Avenue and 42nd Street. That man has been identified as 26-year-old Travis Marks. Police say Marks faces numerous charges, including CPW, CPCS, Theft of Service, and Criminal Trespass.

On Friday, April 6, 2012 at 1730 hours Officers Mohammed Ahmed and Adam England were patrolling the subway station at 8 Avenue and 42 Street when the observed the suspect walk through the exit gate and enter the transit system illegally. Upon stopping the suspect, he was observed attempting to discard a plastic bag with a white powdering substance inside. The suspect was placed under arrest and was found to be in possession of a loaded Bryco 59 9MM caliber semi-automatic handgun in his waist band.
