No vacation ever really goes the way you think it will and despite how much you want to escape work, sometimes your boss shows up on the beach while you’re dancing with your friends and fires you because you weren’t supposed to be taking a vacation in the first place.

(RNN) - It's like a General Services Administration employee had ESP.

The internet community is burning with anger after a video for a skit competition at a 2010 conference in Las Vegas joked about lavish spending of government money. It won praise for its humor during a conference for the GSA, the agency now being investigated for lavish spending of government money.

The video, spoofing the song Billionaire by Travie McCoy and Bruno Mars, features federal government workers rapping and singing about spending their money on "fun" and never being investigated for misusing funds.

"I buy everything your field office can't afford, I'll never be under OIG investigation" the employee raps in the video.

Whoops. He rapped too soon.

The OIG is the Office of the Inspector General, which has since looked into the GSA's $820,000 tab from the conference.

The agency also is being investigated by two House committees - House Oversight and Government Reform and House Transportation Committee.

The video – made by staff from Hawaii - won the skit contest and the performer was called up on stage.

The head of the agency, Martha Johnson, resigned earlier this week amid the report and subsequent firestorm.

The employee was having a little fun and made the video before the conference, but this may be the tip of the iceberg with viral videos from the conference.

Although what happens in Vegas generally stays in Vegas, more videos and damning evidence could surface through the course of the investigation. Social media makes sure nothing stays buried for long.
