RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Anyone who has played Little League knows the coach's son always get treated a little differently. So the son of one of the winningest active managers in Major League Baseball may have a little pressure on him.
But Brett Bochy has been storming up the Giants organization. The son of the parent club's manager Bruce, Bochy skipped high A San Jose, starting in Richmond this year. Bochy went 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA with 10 saves in 35 games last year at low A Augusta.
Bochy said he was pleasantly surprised after the Giants drafted him in 2010. He says that he doesn't carry a lot of pressure with him - he just loves to play baseball.
The 6'2 190 lb right-hander will be in the Squirrels bullpen this season. The team has its season opener at New Britain Thursday.
