Hanover courthouse reopens following bomb threat

HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - The Hanover General District Courthouse was evacuated Thursday morning due to a bomb threat.

The call came in around 8:30 a.m. Sheriff's Office personnel conducted  security sweeps and used bomb-detecting K9s, but found nothing suspicious. Once authorities determined there was no threat, normal operations resumed around 10 a.m.

The closure did not affect the circuit courthouse which is in a separate building.
