
RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The line of strong thunderstorms that passed over metro Richmond shortly after 8 tonight is now moving rapidly to the east, and will bring it's intense lightning and very heavy rain across the eastern parts of Virginia toward the Bay through about 10pm, before moving offshore.
For Richmond and all of the metro area, the line of storms should be well to our east by 9pm or shortly thereafter.
The storm developed very quickly early this evening, with it's main features being the intense lightning and heavy rainfall. There were some isolated reports of small hail, but none severe have been indicated.
Dominion Power is reporting over 10,000 outages in the Richmond Metro/Tri Cities area.
