Richmond school rezoning plan can be decided in May

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A lot of questions remain over how Richmond's school rezoning plan will work.

Parents packed a meeting at John Marshall High School on this hot topic, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

For the first time since the 1970's, the Richmond School District is set to be rezoned.

School leaders are forming a committee of about 30 people, made up of parents and other people in the city.

Their job will be to decide where each kid in the school district should go. Some schools might have to close since new schools are being rebuilt.

The goal for this rezoning committee is to have a plan ready by May.
