Richmond, VA (WWBT)- Former William and Mary soccer player and Clover Hill product Ian Stowe is fighting the battle of his life. Stowe was diagnosed with brain cancer in January and now fights to overcome the deadly disease.
The Richmond Kickers and Tribe soccer team did their part to chip in on Friday night, hosting a benefit game for Stowe at Ukrops Park. Spectators paid a five dollar donation at the gate and all the proceeds went towards Stowe and his family for his treatment. The former Tribe and Cavalier soccer player has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment and will begin radiation treatment this summer.
The Kickers and Tribe played to a scoreless draw in the benefit game.
