Earle takes reigns of Tucker football program

Richmond, VA (WWBT)- J.R. Tucker announced George Earle as its new football coach on Thursday night, leaving the program in the hands of a man who is familiar with the Tiger sidelines.

Earle has been with Tucker since 2006 as the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach.  He replaces Matt Crenshaw, who resigned after three seasons as head coach of the Tigers.  Crenshaw resigned to spend more time with his family following the 2011 season, in which J.R. Tucker finished 2-8.

Earle played football at Fork Union Military Academy and Bridgewater College, and got his first assistant coaching job at West Potomac High School.  He said on Thursday that he knew he wanted to be a head coach since he was a senior in high school.  Now he'll get his chance.
