A former Henrico youth basketball coach who admitted to having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old player will spend a year and a half behind bars.
A judge sentenced 25-year-old Timothy James to 18 months in jail and 10 years probation. He also must register as a sex offender and can't have unsupervised contact with a female under the age of 18.
James entered guilty pleas to two counts of carnal knowledge with a minor. Police say it appears the sexual encounters were consensual.
