Virginia's primary season can carry on as planned. Wednesday night the Justice Department officially approved the Commonwealth's redistricting plans.
The General Assembly passed the new lines earlier this year, but must get approval from the Justice Department under the Voting Rights act before implementing them.
There was a concern that the districts would not be in place in time for the June primaries.
With Wednesday's decision that is no longer a problem.
