HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - An early morning fire in Henrico has displaced the occupants of a condominium.

The fire happened around 9 a.m. in the 1500 block of Front Royal Dr.

There were several calls to police for smoke coming out of the condo.

Fire crews arrived within minutes to find heavy fire visible from the front side of the unit.

None of the people who lived there were home at the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported, but fire crews did locate a cat, which had died as a result of the fire.

The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes.

Several other residents were evacuated from the area for high carbon monoxide levels. They were later allowed to return after the CO levels had dropped.

The people who lived in the unit on fire will be displaced because of the fire damage — the people below the unit will also be displaced due to water damage.

Fire investigators from Henrico County are investigating the cause of the fire. We will bring you more information as it is made available.
