RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - March Madness has taken over Central Virginia since VCU is going to the big dance again.
VCU will play one of the first games in the NCAA Tournament this week when they go dancing in Portland.
VCU will take on Wichita State in Portland, Oregon Thursday night at 7:15. That's the same team the rams beat in last year's bracket buster game.
Coach Shaka Smart doesn't want his team to focus too much on last year's Final Four run. He gave each player a card that says "It's over" on one side and "Right now" on the other side.
Rams fans showed their support at restaurants and sports bars when the announcement came out.
The winner of Thursday night's game will then take on the winner of the Indiana and New Mexico game.
This year the Rams have 28 wins so far. That's the total number of victories of last year's team including the NCAA tournament.
