RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A meeting in Hanover over plans to expand memorial regional hospital is coming.
Many people say they'd like to see a larger number of services, mostly so they don't have to travel so far for the care they need.
More specifically, cancer care and urgent care are two concerns main concerns.
Some employees say the expansion is all about keeping up with demand and right now they say the hospital is already at its limit.
They'd like to see the campus increase the number of hospital beds too.
The hospital serves patients from Fredericksburg to Richmond and surrounding counties.
Even though it could bring more traffic in the area, many neighbors don't mind if they can get the medical care they need.
Tonight Bon Secour will hold a meeting open to the public Monday at 5:00pm at the medical center's campus at 8260 Atlee road in Mechanicsville.
People can share their ideas and needs for the hospital.
The hospital says they will have actual expansion plan by Friday.
