RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A Richmond Police officer took a hard hit Sunday morning, when a man ran a stop sign, forcing the officer's car onto a sidewalk and into a retaining wall.
The crash happened just after 8:00 a.m. near Carver and Rogers streets. The female officer and the driver were both taken to the hospital.
We're told the driver was released, but the officer will probably be kept overnight for observation.
Richmond Police are reviewing the accident.
At this time, the driver has not been charged.
