RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A big day in Richmond as City Council gets its first look at the Mayor's full budget.
Mayor Dwight Jones has a long list of plans, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Last week the Mayor shared his ideas on some projects and how they would be paid for.
The city recently received $62 million after the Richmond Metropolitan Authority paid off a city loan.
One way the mayor wants to spend that money is by improving tourism.
His budget plan includes creating a promenade in Shockoe Bottom, renovating the Landmark Theater, and developing the river front.
Mayor Jones also wants to improve public housing and build a world class industrial park off I-95.
But it's City Council who has the final say on the budget.
The Mayor will present it to them this afternoon.
