HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - As snow fell across Central Virginia, many school districts decided to close for the day. However, Hanover County Public Schools remained open, without even a delay.
Some parents were upset with the decision, citing dangerous road conditions. Hanover Schools reported that all buses were able to arrive on time safely.
In a written statement, they told NBC12:
"This morning the decision to remain on regular schedule was based on the time that the precipitation was scheduled to begin, the actual road temperatures (ranging from 35 to 37 degrees), and the time that the students would arrive at school (by 8:15 a.m.). Based on these factors, the decision was made that all students could be safely transported during their regular schedule."
