Benedictine tops Trinity again at Rut Court

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Trinity made a furious comeback in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to keep their season alive.  Benedictine took down their rivals 52-50, to win the quarterfinal matchup in the VISAA playoffs at Coach Rut Court.

Future VCU Ram Jordan Burgess had a game-high 18 points in his final game at the high school gym that both him and his older brother have won many games. Ryan Burnett added 15 points for the Cadets.

Trinity was trailing by 15 points after the third quarter, but outscored the Cadets 21-8 in the fourth quarter.  But that was two points short.

Jaylen Hinton scored 16 points, Josh Brown added 12, and Torey Burston put in 10 points for the Titans.

Benedictine will now play in the semifinals at Virginia State.  The Cadets are 27-4, and the Titans finish the season 20-7.
