RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Gov. Bob McDonnell signed a repeal of Virginia's one-gun-a-month law Tuesday.
The law went into effect nearly 20 years ago to limit the number of guns that could be purchased in a month. Gun control advocates, as well as family members and victims of the Virginia Tech shootings, had urged the governor to leave the law in place.
However, the bill had passed both the House and the Senate, as many saw the measure as ineffective.
