Richmond comeback falls short at Xavier

Cincinnati, OH (WWBT)- The Richmond men's basketball team overcame an early 16-point deficit to lead by three in the second half, before coming up just short in a 65-57 loss at Xavier Saturday.

Junior Darien Brothers scored 15 points, making 6-of-11 field goals to lead the Spiders. Freshman Kendall Anthony scored 10 points, making 5-of-9 field goals and dishing out two assists. Sophomores Derrick Williams and Cedrick Lindsay and junior Greg Robbins each scored seven points.

The Spiders overcame a scoreless drought over the first 10 minutes of the game to shoot 47.9 percent for the game.

Xavier grabbed 20 offensive rebounds and converted them to 11 second-chance points.

Richmond falls to 15-15 on the season, 6-9 in the Atlantic 10 and will host Dayton to close out the regular season on Wednesday.
