RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The suspect in the McGuire Medical Center shooting is scheduled to be in federal court Friday.
A judge will decide if there's enough evidence against Cornelius Hayes to go to trial.
Police say Hayes shot James Stephenson Lee in a volunteer parking lot at McGuire VA.
State troopers arrested him about an hour after the shooting outside a Route 10 Wawa.
Lee died Wednesday night.
NBC12 has confirmed the two men were neighbors. We're told Hayes was dating Lee's cousin.
Hayes had been taking Lee to appointments at the hospital for weeks for cancer treatment.
This case is happening in federal court because the crime happened on federal property.
We will let you know what happens in court on air and online.
