Man left unconscious after hit-and-run

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Police say they're looking for a driver who hit another man, leaving him with severe injuries.

Officers confirm that man is struggling to stay alive. He's suffering from multiple injuries all over his body, including his shoulders and his head. 

He'll be going into surgery at VCU Medical Center. Police say the man was hit around 8:00 p.m. Monday on Orcutt Lane, right off of Hull Street.

Officers tell us the suspect managed to drag him underneath his car for roughly a block from Kimrod Road to Hull Street.

Investigators haven't released any details on what the suspect was driving. Right now, they don't have any witnesses.

As for the victim, officers describe him as a man in his 20s, but they're still trying to identify him. Police say he has not regained consciousness since he was hit. They expect him to be in recovery for a while.
