Virginia Union keeps rolling, tops Lincoln for 4th straight win

Richmond, VA (WWBT)- After a slow start, the Virginia Union men's basketball team is all of a sudden one of the hottest teams in the area.

Damion Harris scored a team-high 18 points to lead the Panthers to an 87-76 win over Lincoln at Barco-Stevens Hall on Saturday night.  Juan Wilson added 15 points while James Theus chipped in eleven for Virginia Union, which takes sole possession of first place in the CIAA's Northern Division with the win.

The victory continues a hot streak for the Panthers.  Luqman Jabber's club has won four games in a row and nine of its last ten contests.  Union's only loss during the stretch came to the very same Lincoln team that the Panthers topped Saturday, an 86-81 decision back on January 30.

Jabber's team certainly has been battle tested during the recent ten game stretch, as six of the nine wins during the span have come by six points or less.

Virginia Union is back in action on Monday in its final home game, as Bowie State pays a visit to Richmond.  That game tips off at 7:30 pm.
