Hightower inducted into Spiders' Hall of Fame

Richmond, VA (WWBT)- Tim Hightower returned to the east coast this season after the Arizona Cardinals traded him to the Washington Redskins.  Saturday, Hightower returned to the University of Richmond to be enshrined with the best athletes ever to set foot on the school's campus.

Hightower is one of five members of the Richmond Hall of Fame Class of 2012.  He was inducted during a ceremony at the Jepson Alumni Center on Saturday afternoon and was honored during the Spiders' men's basketball game later in the evening.  Hightower holds school records for most rushing yards in a game, season and career in a Richmond uniform.  He was an All-American at Richmond and led the Spiders to the NCAA semifinals in 2007.

The running back was selected in the fifth round of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, and during his three seasons in Arizona, he would score the game-winning touchdown in an NFL Championship game and play in a Super Bowl.  Hightower was traded to the Redskins prior to the start of training camp this past August and started five games for Washington, before tearing his ACL.

Hightower says that his rehab is going better than planned and he expects to be ready to go for the 2012 NFL season.
