Noro virus

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - It is a scary illness that has shut down elementary schools, cruise ships and college classes.  The noro virus can knock you out.

Dr. Sheila Clasbey is seeing many G.I. viruses that may be noro virus.  It is causing lost time from work and plenty of misery.

The symptoms include mild fevers, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal cramps.

There is no cure.  You just need to manage the symptoms and stay hydrated.

Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water, hand sanitizers aren't effective.  Sick people should stay home from work.
