CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - SportsQuest in Chesterfield is dealing with a big blow.
The sports complex just lost its partnership with an indoor sports training facility, owned by the Richmond Indoor Sports Experience (RISE).
Its director says the move comes for many reasons he says can't be discussed.
SportsQuest and RISE have been partners on a number of programs, including baseball and indoor lacrosse.
According to the Times-Dispatch, the founder of SportsQuest says the move to cut ties comes so other business units aren't hurt.
This split comes as State Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli filed a lawsuit against SportsQuest.
The suit claims SportsQuest fraudulently marketed and sold memberships to a health club that hasn't been built yet.
SportsQuest has had a hard time raising money in the three-years since it was announced.
It's founder say there are ongoing discussions with potential investors.
