Allala gunning for 4th VHSL championship

Hopewell, VA (WWBT)- It's difficult to win a state championship on the wrestling mat, and rare to find a person who's won two state titles, but Hopewell senior Cody Allala has three VHSL crowns under his belt, and will be looking to pull off the most impressive of feats this weekend.

Allala will be going for his fourth straight state championship at the VHSL meet on Friday and Saturday.  Winning four state titles is something that only 17 wrestlers have ever done in the history of the sport in Virginia.  It will take five wins this weekend for Allala to join the elite group as he'll take the mat in the 160 lb. weight class.  He'll also be looking to follow up his fourth straight Central Region crown, which he captured this past weekend at Hanover High School.

Making the senior's accomplishments this season even more impressive is the fact that he had to come back from a knee injury during the 2011-2012 campaign.

The state championships will be held at Robinson High School in Fairfax.
