RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Virginia's top Democrats were in Richmond this weekend attending a very special event. Saturday night, the Democratic Party held its annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner at the Greater Richmond Convention Center.
The featured speaker was Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer. Others attending included Senator Mark Warner, Congressman Bobby Scott, and former Virginia governor and current U.S. Senate candidate, Tim Kaine.
Kaine is expected to face off against another former governor this November, George Allen. Local elected officials also attended Saturday night's fundraiser. Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones welcomed everyone to the River City.
