Opening statements expected Wednesday in Huguely trial

 CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (WWBT)-

Attorneys will make final cuts for a jury in the George Huguely murder trial Wednesday then begin opening statements.

Late Tuesday, attorneys arrived at 28 potential jurors.

They'll work that down to 12 plus three alternates.

Huguely is charged with first degree murder in the death of his former girlfriend and UVA lacrosse player Yeardley Love.

Many people were dismissed Tuesday after expressing they'd already formed opinions about Huguely. Others said they'd been victims of domestic violence.

Huguely is accused of beating Love to death in May 2010.

She was found in a pool of blood in her own bed.

The defense has said her death was a tragic accident.

Several potential jurors said they believed Huguely was guilty.

Love's family and friends again wore the color pink in honor of the 22 year old.
